  • Apprentice Welder / Fabricator

    EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

    Position located in Kyabram

    Empire Signs Group have an opportunity for an Apprentice Welder / Fabricator to join our growing team.

    As part of this role you will be assisting our experienced Fabricator with the manufacture of a wide range of signage solutions. Day to day, you may also assist in the assembly of signage, as well as assist on local installations where required, which will increase your knowledge on how different signage applications are constructed and installed.

    Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will be awarded a Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade (MEM31922). In addition to trade school, you will receive on the job training with our team to help you build your skills and ensure you feel comfortable to complete tasks both as part of a team and independently.

    This is a great start-up role for anyone who has just finished, or is thinking of leaving school and is looking for a trade.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in the fabrication and manufacture of signage

    • Assist on local installs when required

    • Loading and transporting of signage, tools and materials

    • Wrapping and packing signs ready for dispatch

    • Unloading deliveries and packing stock away

    • Pick-up / drop-off signage and materials as required

    • Keep workshop clean and tidy at all times

    • Adhere to all safety requirements

    • Work as part of a team

  • Apprentice Signwriter

    Learn a creative trade and become a fully qualified signwriter! 

    As part of your apprenticeship you will learn the practical skills to design, manufacture and install a wide range of indoor and outdoor signage applications such as vinyl, large format prints, retail shopfronts and illuminated signs.  

    Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will be awarded a Certificate III in Signs and Graphics. Our apprentices attend trade school 8 times a year, for a one week block every 5 weeks. In addition to trade school, you will receive ongoing training with our team to help you build your skills and ensure you feel comfortable to complete tasks both as part of a team and independently.  

    Responsibilities 

    Assist on installations for various types of signage  

    Loading and transporting of signage, tools and materials to site 

    Preparing the site for installation including the removal of existing signage 

    Perform maintenance and repairs to signs as needed 

    Operation of tools and equipment 

    Adhere to all safety requirements 

    Work as part of a team 

    Skills and experience 

    Drivers License is advantageous 

    Physically fit and able to perform labour including lifting, climbing and working at heights 

    Willingness to work overtime as needed 

    Willing to learn to use a boom or scissor lift 

    Excellent attention to detail 

    Great time management and the ability to work under pressure

  • Labourer

    Located in Melbourne

    As part of the this position you will receive informal on the job training to build your practical skills to assist in the manufacture and install of a wide range of indoor and outdoor signage applications such as vinyl, large format prints, retail shopfronts and illuminated signs. As part of this role you will be working with a fully qualified Signwriter who will provide training for all tasks and be there for help when required.

    You will work alongside the Production Co-Ordinator who will advise tasks at hand, and the priority order for

    the day.

    Responsibilities

    Assist in the manufacture of a range of indoor and outdoor signage applications

    Operation of vinyl plotter, router and letter bender

    Prepare vinyl and prints for signage application

    Assist on installations for various types of signage when required

    Loading and transporting of signage, tools and materials to site

    Preparing the site for installation including the removal of existing signage

    Perform maintenance and repairs to signs as needed

    Accept deliveries, unpack and check if required

    Maintain cleanliness and organisation of production area

    Adhere to all safety requirements

    Work as part of a team
